Went for a hike after work with some fellow coworkers/interns at Camelback Mountain which sits just outside of Phoenix proper and offers the highest vantage point to see city. It’s a short (1.5 mile) hike, but steep and strenuous (well, at least for me), rising 1200 feet in that short span. We made it up for the sunset and had some gorgeous views. But it was a good thing that Hannah made us bring headlamps cause it was pretty much dark by the time we were heading down. And she came and rescued us when Eric and I veered off course. Did I mention that she’s a Buckeye? Man, I’m ashamed. I did run into a rattlesnake, a tarantula, and a scorpion on the way down; I guess they like to come out at night when it’s cooler just like us.
